$795,000 – Eye Injury at Work Site

A man called our office because his workers’ compensation insurance stopped paying him a small amount that was due to him per week because of an accident he suffered while working. At the time of the accident, he was on a ladder using a nail gun and a nail hit his eye because he was not given goggles to protect his eyes. He suffered a loss of vision, but he was still able to see well enough to drive a car. We were able to sue someone other than his boss (employer) and we recovered $795,000 for him. The other side (the defense attorneys) fought bitterly against us, yet we proved liability without a trial. The other side (the defense attorneys) appealed that decision and we won in the appellate courts also. The case was settled during trial for $795,000.
