$517,000 – Dizzy Patient’s Fall Was Not Prevented

Posted in and tagged by Kenneth A. Wilhelm, Esq.

The injured person had passed away before trial but we still won the case and were awarded $517,000 for roughly 2 years and 10 months of pain and suffering – a very favorable verdict.
A woman went to see a neurologist as referred by her primary doctor. She complained of dizziness and imbalance. The doctor told the woman to jump up and down on one leg, but did not take necessary precautions to prevent the patient from falling. As a result, the woman suffered a broken arm which required surgery with plates and screws. Despite the fact that the woman died before trial, which eliminates future pain and suffering, we were able to recover a very good verdict.
