David Hasselhoff’s ex-wife, Pamela, recently spoke out about a brutal dog attack that left her seriously injured and having to walk with crutches. According to an Inside Edition report, she was attacked by three bulldogs at a friend’s home. Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff told the media that as bad as the injuries were, they could have been much worse. She said she shielded her face and neck with her arms, which may have saved her life. Hasselhoff said she was in a curled position as the dogs mauled her arms. She is facing a long and painful recovery, according to the report.
Five Things to Do if a Dog Attacks You
• Remain calm. If you panic, the dog may feel threatened and become more aggressive. Yell out for help.
• Stand still or walk at a constant slow pace, but do not run. When you run away, you give the dog a target to chase. This may lead to a worse attack.
• Do not use a part of your body such as an arm or a leg to distance yourself from the dog.
• If you are knocked to the ground, curl up into a ball and put your hands around the back of your head to protect your neck and face.
• Do not pull away as the dog is biting as this will cause your skin to tear. If you cannot escape from its grasp, use your entire body weight on the animal as it may break the animal’s bones.
