 The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA) has chosen Kenneth A. Wilhelm to receive this year’s prestigious Top 10 Attorney Award for the state of New York. According to an announcement made by NAOPIA, the group itself was established in 2013 with the goal of discovering and recognizing the top 10 personal injury lawyers in each state for their hard work and accomplishments. A letter from NAOPIA stated: “NAOPIA has chosen you to receive our organization’s highest honor because of the hard work and dedication you have shown in protecting the rights of the injured.”

A Rigorous Selection Process
The attorneys who make it to the NAOPIA Top 10 list in each state must first be nominated by a licensed attorney. The group’s research staff then verifies that they meet the membership requirements. Fifty of the nominated attorneys move on to the final stage of the process, chosen by NAOPIA’s Selection Committee. The group’s Board of Governors then selects the Top 10 in each state. There are over 166,000 lawyers in New York state.
This is indeed a formidable challenge given the fact that there are more than a million personal injury lawyers in the United States. All 10 award recipients will have their profiles listed on NAOPIA’s website and will receive a custom engraved plaque as well as a license to use the award and display the NAOPIA Top 10 Badge on their respective websites.
