Also, injured patient scores on the verbal letter fluency task, thinking and memory skills were 25 percent lower than the scores of the healthy participants. This study looked as victims who had suffered so-called mild TBIs from common accidents such as falls from bicycles or slow-speed car accidents. This finding is crucial because the majority – about 90 percent – of all traumatic brain injuries, are considered “mild to moderate.”
