Seven Injured in Bronx Car Accident

Seven people including two police officers sustained injuries in a New York City car accident. According to an NBC News report, the injury car crash occurred at the intersection of Crotona Avenue and Claremont Parkway in the Bronx, involving a police cruiser and another car. Officials say the driver of the other car will face charges, but it is not clear what those charges might be. The extent of injuries sustained by the victims is unknown at this time.
Street intersection car accidents in New York can result in serious, sometimes, catastrophic injuries or even fatalities. A majority of street intersection accidents are the direct result of traffic violations such as running a red light, stop sign, or failure to yield right-of-way. Intersection accidents can also result from negligent acts on the part of a driver such as drunk driving, distracted driving or speeding.
In such cases, the at-fault motorist can be held financially responsible for the injuries, damages and losses caused. Injured victims can seek compensation for all medical expenses, lost wages and other related damages. In some instances, a street intersection accident may be the result of a dangerous roadway condition. If that is the case, then the governmental agency responsible for maintaining the roadway can also be held liable for damages.
