At least four people were injured in a Brooklyn car crash after an SUV smashed through the front window of a Popeye’s restaurant in East Flatbush. According to a CBS New York report, the incident occurred when the SUV’s driver lost control and crashed into the restaurant causing a gaping hole. One woman was pinned under the SUV. The driver, his passenger and two customers were transported to an area hospital. One person was in critical condition. Two others reportedly suffered serious injuries and one victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.

Car Accident Injuries
When a car strikes a pedestrian or a bystander, victims often suffer serious injuries. Some of the most common injuries suffered in car versus pedestrian accidents include head injuries, spinal cord trauma, broken bones, internal injuries and amputations. A number of these injuries are catastrophic, which means that they can have long-term or permanent effects on the victim.
Crash Investigations
In such cases, it is important to look into precisely what caused the accident. Was the driver under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs? Was there a mechanical malfunction in the vehicle that caused it to veer off the roadway? Was the driver distracted at the time? Was the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed? These are some of the questions that must be answered in order to determine the facts of the case.
